Harriet Ann Buller

February 10, 1927 — October 14, 2018

Harriet Ann (Bacon) Buller passed away October 14, 2018 at her home of 52 years in Cozad, Nebraska at the age of 91. Harriet was born February 10, 1927 in Cozad to Frank and Alice (Campbell) Bacon.

She graduated from Curtis High School and Kearney State Teachers College. Harriet started her teaching career in Hampton, Nebraska.  This is also where she met Dean Buller, and they married on May 25, 1952.  Through her life partnership with Dean of 66 years, they embraced all the wonderful aspects of Nebraska rural living and were blessed with three children, Jordan “Dyke”, Jack and Julie.

In 1954, Dean was offered an opportunity to farm irrigated land in Cozad.  While there, Harriet taught at several rural schools and finished her 33-year career, teaching first grade at North Grade School.

Harriet had many interests and hobbies.  She was an avid reader and loved doing the Sunday Times crossword puzzle.  She enjoyed caring for her lawn and flower beds, refinishing furniture, and watching the Huskers and crime shows. Harriet had a special love for all the farm animals, but particularly the quarter horses and their many farm cats.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Keeping up with all of their activities and interests was a priority for Harriet.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jordan “Dyke” Buller; siblings, Philip Bacon, Robert Bacon, Clara McDowell, Margaret McIntosh, Pauline McIntosh, Lenore Brown and Avis Bacon; niece, Diane Trullinger, and her husband, Lyle; brothers-in-law, Jim Hatfield and Howard Buller and his wife Elma; and step granddaughter, Laura Heisel.

Survivors include her husband; son, Jack Buller and his wife Lori of Naperville, IL; daughter, Julie Heisel and her husband Michael of Sheldon, SC; grandchildren, Hillary Buller, Jordan Buller, his wife Maria and their twin daughters, Harper and Madison; step granddaughter, Denise Morse, her husband Will and their children, Chloe, Caitlin and Carson; great niece, Ann Trullinger; great nephew, Ryan Trullinger and his wife Leslie; 2 brothers-in-law, Lou Buller and wife Evelyn and Jim Buller and wife Betty; sister-in-law, Eleanor Hatfield; and many other relatives and special friends.
