John W. Coble, Sr. of Cozad passed away September 27, 2018 in his home at the age of 66. John was born April 19, 1952 in Pensacola, Florida to George and Donita (McKimmey) Coble. The family eventually moved to Nebraska. John graduated from high school while serving in the Navy. He married Sandra Hudson on May 16, 1971 and together had six children. John was inducted into the U.S. Navy in 1971 and served as a Hospital Corpsman during the Vietnam Era. Following his honorable discharge from the military, John continued a life time of service to the communities that he lived and worked. John was an accomplished registered nurse. John spent most of his time working to save lives in the emergency room. John retired to Cozad, Nebraska. He was interested in dragons, swords, guns and enjoyed learning about Eastern Medicine. John was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Louisa Leach. Survivors include his children, Adam (Angela) Coble of Funk, NE, Melissa (Mark) Keller of Montrose, CO, Jason (Kimberly) Coble of Tulsa, OK, Alliscia (Jason) Koehler of Macon, IL, Guy (Georgia-Dee) Coble of Cozad and John W. Coble Jr. of Cozad; brother, James (Sandy) Coble of Hastings, NE; 16 grandchildren, Zachary, Jeffrey, Kamron, Gregory, Mackenzie, Joshua, Rachel, Matthew, McKenna, Ashlyn, Jaxon, Aiden, Quinn, Elijah, Kaitlyn and Elena; 2 great grandchildren, Colt and Nila; uncle, Dick (Shirley) Collins of Kearney, NE and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation was chosen. Burial with military honors will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.Tuesday, October 2, 2018
