John H. Worthman, M.D.

John H. Worthman, M.D. of Cozad passed away July 31, 2018 at Stonehearth Estates in Gothenburg at the age of 82. John was born August 20, 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska to Herbert and Margaret (McShane) Worthman. He graduated from Louisville, Nebraska High School with the class of 1953. On September 8, 1957, John married Carolyn Sear in Lexington, Nebraska. He graduated from Hastings College in 1957 and the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1961. He interned at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital and worked in Louisville, West Point, Omaha, Kearney, Gothenburg and Cozad as a family physician. He served on many boards where ever he lived and worked. He is survived by his wife Carolyn of Cozad; 2 sons, David (Deb) of Cozad and Douglas (Lori) of Eaton, CO; 4 grandchildren, Amanda (Weston) Ogden of Cozad, Megan (Melissa) Worthman of Denver, CO, Patrick Worthman of Cozad and Marcus (Annette) Worthman of Loveland, CO; 2 great grandchildren, Sean Worthman and Gavin Ogden of Cozad. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Volwiler.   Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Services will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Gahn officiating. Burial will follow at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 pm to 8 pm with family receiving friends from 6 pm to 8 pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
