Joyce Ann Dewey

Joyce Ann Dewey of Cozad passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg at the age of 88. She was born February 14, 1933 to Forrest L. and Rose A. (Adler) Dewey. She grew up and attended schools in Ansley, Nebraska. Joyce received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Peru State College and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She began her 40 year teaching career in Nebraska rural schools and later taught at Anselmo-Merna, Cozad Public Schools and Council Bluffs, Iowa Elementary School. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Catherine Elaine and a brother, Forrest Eau Clair Dewey; a niece and nephew. Survivors include great nieces; a great nephew; a Godson, Dillon Eli Thurn; and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to Cozad Church of Christ. A private graveside service will be held at Ansley Cemetery, Ansley, Nebraska, at a later date.
