Judith M. Smock

Judith Marlene (McNulty) Smock passed away June 2, 2018 at her home in Cozad at the age of  75. She was born May 29, 1943 in Cozad, Nebraska to Barney Sr. and Gladys (Weaver) McNulty. She attended Cozad City Schools and graduated in 1961. On June 4, 1961, she married Oran Eugene Smock. Three daughters were born to this union: Sherri Ann, Dawn Marie and Crystal Lynn.  She worked for the Dairy Queen, Valley Vending, WJ O’Connor’s, and D&S Crafts before retiring in 2000 because of health reasons. She loved playing Bingo and cards with her friends. Early in her retirement, she spent the afternoons having coffee (pop) with her friends. She enjoyed helping out with the Lion’s Club Bingo stand at Hay Days. Her grandchildren were her life and she loved them all. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, she loved buying gifts for them and seeing their faces when they opened them. She is survived by her husband, Oran Eugene; three daughters Sherri Ann Policky of Kearney, Dawn Marie (Steve) Beans of Cozad, Crystal Lynn (Steve) Caravan of Grand Island; 9 grandchildren, Austin (Nicole) Policky of San Antonio, TX, Logan and Tarren Policky of Kearney, Travis Beans of Fremont, Morgan Smock of Cozad, Rachel Caravan of Henderson, Colorado, Kayla Caravan of Sioux City, IA, Brooke Caravan of Kearney, and Chanc Caravan of Grand Island; 4 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter; and one brother, Barney (Pat) McNulty of Cozad. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney Sr. and Gladys; one brother, Bernard McNulty; three sisters, Esther Hatcher, Donna Eileen McNulty, and Betty Lou McNulty. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Cremation was chosen. Private family services will be held.  Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Friday, June 8, 2018 from noon until 5 pm with family receiving friends from 2 pm to 5 pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
