Judy Lee (Howard) Morton, former Cozad resident, passed away May 22, 2018 at her home in Lincoln at the age of 78. Judy was born January 3, 1940 to Woodrow 'Woody' and Louise (Cox) Howard. She grew up in Maxwell, Nebraska. Judy attended North Platte High School and it was during those years that she met the love of her life, Jim Morton. They were married in 1959 and made their home in Cozad. Judy was a homemaker and worked part-time at both Cozad Floral and Cozad Fashions. She read extensively, volunteered at the Cozad library, and loved a spirited debate about politics and world affairs. She never missed completing the daily crossword and her oatmeal cookies, sour cream raisin bars and vegetable beef soup were second to none. In 2017, Judy relocated to Lincoln to be nearer her family. Memories of her antics on family game nights-from "Minute To Win It" to playing pitch to taffy pulls will be forever cherished. Her quiet strength and love will be with us always. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim. She leaves behind two sons, Mark and Scott of Lincoln; two daughters-in-law; Bev and Kristine; four grandchildren, Alli, Mallory, Tyler and Jake; her brother Jim and her sister-in-law, Paula of Colorado Springs. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to the Wilson Public Library, Cozad. Services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Eighmy officiating. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
