Karen Marie Becker was born on April 10, 1961, in Oxford, Nebraska to Ervin Forest and Valeta J. (Kennelly) Purple. She peacefully passed away on January 2, 2024, at her home in Beaver City, Nebraska at the age of 62. Throughout her life, Karen touched the lives of many with her caring spirit and infectious joy.
It was in high school that Karen crossed paths with the love of her life, Dan Becker. Their love story began to blossom, and they were joined in matrimony on August 23, 1979. Karen and Dan settled in Beaver City, Nebraska and together raised four children who were all born in Norton, Kansas.
Karen owned her own cleaning business, Dust Busters, worked for The Home Agency in Beaver City and Beaver City Housing Authority.
Karen's career started as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) but quickly progressed to become a Certified Medication Aide (CMA). Her passion for caregiving shone brightly as she worked tirelessly at the Beaver City Manor. The elderly under her care were fortunate to experience her gentle touch and compassionate heart.
One of the fondest memories Karen had was of the family vacations she enjoyed during her childhood in Michigan with her kids and grandkids. Her father's initiative led to the building of cabins in Red Feather Colorado shortly after their first child was born. This tradition became a cherished part of their lives as they embarked on yearly family getaways. Another tradition that held a special place in Karen's heart was their annual journey to Sturgis on their beloved motorcycle. The thrill of the open road brought immeasurable joy to Karen's wild and free-spirited soul. Above all else, what truly brought immense happiness to Karen was spending quality time with her family. She treasured every moment and captured them on video or through photographs, forever preserving the beautiful memories they made together. Her contagious smile and witty sense of humor will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Karen Marie Becker's legacy as a loving wife, devoted mother, caring professional, and free spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life journey. As we bid her farewell, may she find eternal peace.
