Kenneth E. Meissner

Kenneth E. Meissner of Cozad passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 77. He was born November 12, 1942 in rural Frontier County, Nebraska to Leo and June (Carroll) Meissner. Kenneth graduated from Maywood High School and worked numerous jobs in the McCook area. On December 21, 1973 Kenneth married Eugenia Lehn. The couple eventually made their home in Cozad where they raised their four children. He was employed at Tenneco Automotive/ Monroe in Cozad, retiring after more than 20 years. Kenneth was always willing to lend a helping hand, and especially enjoyed scooping snow for his neighbors. Christmas was his favorite time of year and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and using his Traeger grill to cook for the family. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Cora and Thelma. Survivors include his wife, Eugenia; sons, Kenlyn Meissner of Plattsmouth and Kevin (Helen) Meissner of Minnesota; daughters, Sue (Lonnie) Britt of Cozad and Leah (Jake) Peden of Kearney; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Joan Currier of WA; brothers, Gerald Meissner of  Wellfleet, LeRoy Meissner of McCook and Carl Meissner of Broken Bow. Services will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jill Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, McCook, NE. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
