LaDonna J. Sweeney

LaDonna Jane Carpenter Sweeney passed away May 15, 2019 at Sun City, Arizona at the age of 90. LaDonna was born March 6, 1929 in Lexington, Nebraska to Arthur and Mabel (Castleberry) Carpenter. She was schooled in the Cozad Nebraska Community School and High School from Kindergarten through High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Los Angeles for four years before moving back to Cozad, Nebraska and continuing work as a telephone operator and then as a nurses aide at the hospital and later at a doctors office. In 1954, LaDonna married Paul Sweeney. In 1979, they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and she worked as an administrative assistant in a doctors office until her retirement in 1990. LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers and a sister. Survivors include her husband Paul; children, Bill (Sherene) Morris, Brian (Kathy) Sweeney, Valorie (Michael) Staggs and Brad Sweeney; grandchildren, Michelle, Sarah, Seth, Michaella, Chianne, Paul, Brian, Matt, James, Austin, Dakota and Joseph; great grandchildren, Hallee, Hayden, Brayden, Jackson, Maxwell, Charlie, Hudson and Sevan. Graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cozad Cemetery. You are welcome to join the family by wearing Big Red attire. A lunch will follow the committal service at Cozad Christian Church, 820 Avenue F, Cozad, NE. Berryman Funeral Home is assisting the family.
