Lavonne Mae Petersen

Lavonne Mae Petersen, 89, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Avamere in Lexington, Nebraska with her children by her side. Lavonne was born October 13, 1930 in Emerson, Nebraska to John and Marie White. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Darrell (Bubs) Petersen. Two children joined this young family, Linda Kneifl and David Petersen, both of Lexington and eventually three grandchildren, Jon, Seth and Christopher. Lavonne enjoyed amateur roller skating and cards, always Bubs as her partner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Darrell; brother, Dick (Karen) White and sister, Charlotte (Bill) Irish; and beloved grandson, Christopher. Survivors include daughter, Linda Kneifl and son, David Petersen, both of Lexington; grandsons Jon (Radana) Kneifl of Washington D.C. and Seth Petersen of Phoenix, AZ; brother Bob (Delphine) White of Napa, CA; sister Sharon Hamilton of Sioux City, IA; and numerous caring nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Lavonne's name be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. It was Lavonne's wish to be cremated. A family memorial service will be held in Ft. Collins, CO this fall. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
