Scott Thompson

Loren Scott Thompson passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney at the age of 62. Scotty was born September 14, 1960 in Ainsworth, Nebraska to DuWayne and Ann (Atkinson) Thompson, and grew up in the Bassett area. He attended training centers in Broken Bow, Norfolk, Ainsworth, and Chamberlain, SD. Last attending South Central Developmental Center in Cozad while residing with his sister and brother in law, Jill and Darin Hoffmaster of Lexington NE. Scotty loved the outdoors, camping, boating and swimming. He will always be remembered for his bright smile, loving nature, and the purest heart. He is survived by his parents, DuWayne and Ann Thompson of Lincoln; sister, Jill Hoffmaster of Lexington; brother, Kent Thompson of Lincoln; special friends, Joy Thompson of Lincoln and Brandon Barnes of Lexington; nieces, Brooke (Harrison) Duncan of Atlanta, GA, and Paige (Christian) LeBlanc of Omaha; nephews, Jordan Nicewonger of Lexington and Jake Thompson of Lincoln; and great niece, Diana of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his brother in law, Darin Hoffmaster; his grandparents, Earl and Vera Thompson, and Bill and Irene Atkinson.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating.
