Marcos Hernandez passed away at his home in Cozad, Nebraska on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the age of 79. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 7, 1944 to Ramon and Guadalupe (Mendoza) Hernandez. He graduated high school in Torrington, Wyoming in 1963. After graduation Marcos joined the U.S. Army. He was deployed to Vietnam and Germany during his time in the service. Upon returning to the United States, he met his beloved wife, Candelaria Hernandez. They were married on October 21, 1968, in El Paso, Texas. Five children were blessed to this union: Lusia, Jesse, Ramon, Marcos, and David. The family moved to Cozad, Nebraska. Marcos worked at Tenneco automotive where he retired. After retirement he enjoyed working part time at Sonny’s super foods. Marcos enjoyed fishing, riding his bike and anything to keep himself active. He loved his family more than anything else in the world…except maybe a cold PBR. Marcos is survived by his wife, Candelaria Hernandez of Cozad; and all his children, Lusia (Marty) Munster of Cozad, Jesse (Yesenia) Hernandez of Omaha, Ramon Hernandez of Lexington, Marcos Hernandez of Cozad and David (Andrea) Hernandez of Cozad; he is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with his siblings and their families. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Mike Pampara as celebrant. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Lexington. Visitation with family present will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
