Marjorie DeLoise Reed, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 5th at her home in Cozad, Nebraska with family by her side. Marge was born February 19, 1932 in Cambridge, Nebraska to Orval WM and Francis DeLoise Goodwin Foster, the second of three children.
Marge married Bill Morris on December 18, 1950 in Seward, Nebraska. To this union, four children were blessed - Debra, Terri, Kent and Todd. Marge and Bill raised their family in Cozad, where she was a beautician and operated her shop out of her home for many years. Bill passed away on June 3, 1990 and Marge said she lost the love of her life that day. She opened her Bible to the verse Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She thought of this verse often as she turned to her faith throughout her life to guide her through.
On January 11, 1992, she married Mert Reed and moved to Missouri. In whatever town she lived in, she was active in church, Cub Scouts, MOPS, and Bible studies. She enjoyed crafting, her flower gardens, and rock collecting. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for friends and family. After Mert passed, she moved back to Cozad to cherish the time spent with her family. She felt blessed living closer, especially as her great-grandchildren were born. She was known as “Nanny” to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marge is survived by her sister Genny, daughter Deb (Dewy) Grotelueschen of Omaha, son Todd (Linda) Morris of Cozad, grandchildren Jon, Richard, Suzanne, Nicole, Aaron, Tracy, Darci, Jodi, Justin, Leann, and Kylee and their families. Marge also has several step-children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren to celebrate her life.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, brother Floyd, daughter Terri, son Kent, best friend Betty Stauffer Werner, along with many other friends and family.
Memorials are suggested to the Cozad United Methodist Church or Cozad Thrift Shop. Services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
