Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Pastor David Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Berryman Funeral Home.

Marvin D. Linder Sr. of Cozad passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, surrounded by his family, at the age of 81. Marvin was born March 11, 1942 in Lexington, Nebraska to William Sr. and Thelma (Elliot) Linder. He joined the Army National Guard right out of school. Marvin married Dorthy Barta on March 10, 1961 in Lexington, Nebraska where they lived for several years, before moving to Cozad in 1982. Their union was blessed with 4 children, Dani, Marvin Jr., Micky and Donna Jo, and bonus son, Mark, who was very special to Marvin. He worked on farms, hay mills, Sperry New Holland, and ended his work career as a security guard at Monroe Auto. He loved fishing, camping and spending time with family. He was the family handyman. He also knew no stranger, if he met you, you would remember his by his sense of humor. He was never serious until he needed to be. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin, Junior, Dean, Boyd, Glen, Georgie and Loren; sisters, Kate and Pauline; grandsons, Christopher and Ron; and granddaughter, Makayla. Survivors include his wife, Dorthy Linder of Cozad; children, Dani Wescoat of Gothenburg, Marvin Jr. (Pauline) Linder of Cozad, Micky (Kim) Linder of Darr, Donn Jo (Tony) Haggart of Cozad; brother, Larry Linder of KS; sisters, Nadine Davis of AZ, Marcel Dickey of OR; grandchildren, Tabitha Schmidt of Grand Island, Charley (Leah) Wescoat of North Platte, Christina (Jordan) Maudlin of Cozad, Mathew (Lacey) Linder of Cozad, Mike Linder of Ord, Mark DeWitt of Lexington, Jacoby Loftin of AZ, Brianna (Deric) Lunkwitz of Gothenburg, Kristell (Tyler) Myers of Cozad, Jovi (Skye) Wear of Gothenburg, Corbyn Sattler of Cozad, Dalton Haggart of Cozad, Drake Sattler of Cozad, Nate Haggart of Cozad, Ashley (Jordan) Kinnan of Cozad, Tiffany (Matt) Marquardt of Tekamah, Caleb Lucero of Cozad, Kisha Thomas of Cozad; special bonus son, Mark (Susan) Gutierrez of Lexington; 33 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
