Mary Ann Morse passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at her home in Cozad at the age of 88. Mary was born March 11, 1935 in Buffalo, New York to Bernard and Joan (Kociemski) Zablotny. She came to Nebraska to help her two sisters in Arnold, Nebraska. She worked at the Blue Grill Café in Arnold, and cleaned houses for people. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Arnold, where she met her husband, Kenneth Morse. They were married on February 14, 1954 and lived on a farm near Arnold. Their union was blessed with 5 children, Bernard, Tammy, Bill, Mark and Kent. They eventually moved to Cozad since Kenneth worked at Monroe Auto. Mary worked at the nursing home in Cozad for over 40 years. She enjoyed her work and made many friends. In 1993, she was recognized as a Certified Nursing Assistant from the Nebraska Health Care Association, and inducted into the Healthcare Hall of Fame by the Cozad Hospital Foundation in 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Tammy Anderson; 6 sisters; daughter in law, Mary Morse; one granddaughter, Crystal Crowe; and one great granddaughter, Lindsey Bennett. She is lovingly survived by her children, Bernard (Carmen) Morse of Cozad, Bill (Lynette) Morse of Grand Island, Mark (Karmen) Morse of Cozad and Kent (Joyce) Morse of Cozad; son-in-law Milan Anderson of Gothenburg; grandchildren, Kristen (Eli) Bennett, Joshua (Nicole) Morse, Lacy (Scott) McVay, Nathan Topinka, Julie (Andy) Encinger, Christy (Tim) Poole, Nicholas Morse, Amberlyn (Nick) Cullers, Kolton Morse, David (Lacey) Morse, Rachel (Bryan) Moody and, Dorothy Morse; and numerous great grandchildren, family and friends. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Gahn officiating. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 1 to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
