Mary Ann Fong of Elwood, Nebraska passed away Monday, November 12, 2018, surrounded by family, at the age of 76. Mary Ann was born September 26, 1942 in Billings, Montana to John and Mollie (Reichert) Minch. Mary Ann married Ellis Duane Fong on May 28, 1982. Mary Ann will best be remembered for her love of family, baking, traveling, the Udder Bunch and Husker Volleyball. She retired from Monroe Auto in Cozad. After her retirement, Mary Ann worked part time at the Village Pie Maker in Eustis. Mary Ann was an active member of her community. She served on the Election Committee, helped with the Elwood Food Pantry and was a substitute secretary at her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane Fong; and 2 brothers, Clarence Minch and Jerry Minch. Survivors include 2 daughters, Sandy (David) Ramsey of Spring, TX and Tracie (Bart) Guffey of Blue Springs, MO; a son, Michael (Karyl) Hutchinson of Chappell, NE; a brother, John Minch of Laurel, MT; a sister, Rose Goodall of NV; her "adopted" son, Perry Kotschwar; step-sons, Scott (Karen) Fong, Mark (Peggy) Fong and Dan (Sandy) Fong; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and amazing friends. Services will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Wolff officiating. Burial is at Elwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
