Neal Alvin Gibbins

Neal A. Gibbins of Cozad, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 81. Neal was born on June 12, 1940 to Orville and Pearl (Christensen) Gibbins in Dalton, Nebraska. He was raised on the family dairy farm north of Bridgeport, Nebraska and graduated from Bridgeport High School. Neal enjoyed a successful career in aviation as a private charter pilot and flight school instructor in Scottsbluff, North Platte, Cozad and Lexington. He also flew gas pipelines for several years in New Orleans and Chicago. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking and oil painting. Neal is survived by daughter Lori (Dennis) Conner of Cheyenne, Wyoming, daughter Linda McNeill of Warren, Michigan, stepson Duane (Terri) Mercer of Cozad, Nebraska, stepson Steve (Melanie) Mercer of Gothenburg Nebraska; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Neal was proceeded in death by his parents Orville and Pearl; wife Janice; brother Curtis; and son-in-law Malcolm.

Services will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating, casket will be closed. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
