Patricia A. Ratkovec

Patricia A. Ratkovec of Cozad passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 53. Trish was born February 28, 1966 in Bassett, Nebraska to Dean and Emily (Richardson) Bartlett. She graduated from David City High School and attended Kearney State College. Trish obtained a Masters Degree in Special Education. She taught school at Lost Creek in Columbus before moving to Cozad. Trish worked at the Nebraska Diagnostic Center in Cozad until it closed. She currently taught at the Eustis/Farnam Public Schools. Trish married Edward Ratkovec on September 30, 1995 in David City, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with three children, Emily, Grace and Joseph. Trish enjoyed reading, gardening, swimming, genealogy, fishing and being outdoors.  She loved teaching and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband; parents; children, Emily Ratkovec of Kearney, Grace Ratkovec of Cozad and Joseph Ratkovec of Cozad; stepson, Jason (Amy) Ratkovec of David City; brother, Steven (Christine) Bartlett of Hickman; sister, Pam Romshek of IL; step grandchildren, Gunner and Hadley Ratkovec; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in her name for later designation. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Gahn officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
