Robert Lee "Col. Bob" Doudney

Robert Lee Doudney, 71, known affectionately as "Col. Bob" to some and “Rock N Roll” to some of his loved ones, entered the gates of Heaven at his home in Gothenburg, Nebraska on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was born in Lexington, Nebraska on April 28, 1952, to Donald and Constance "Connie" (Carter) Doudney.

Bob led a fulfilling life marked by various experiences and accomplishments. He graduated from Lexington High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1975. During his military service, he had the opportunity to travel extensively aboard the USS Saratoga, visiting countries such as Spain, Italy, Philippines, France, and Turkey. Whether hunting in the great outdoors or enjoying a day out on the water fishing or boating, he found joy in spending time pursuing these activities. He was an avid Husker and Bronco fan. Additionally, he engaged in various sports such as softball, bowling, tennis, and pool with enthusiasm. He even found enjoyment in simpler pastimes like dancing, playing darts, cards, marbles while also testing his luck with Keno and scratching lottery tickets.

Bob married Lisa Shaw on August 6, 1999. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with family and friends. His warm demeanor and love for those around him endeared him to all who knew him; a sentiment especially felt by his wife and children, whom he cherished deeply.
