Robert L. Richards

Robert L. Richards of Cozad passed away September 7, 2018 at the Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 76. Bob was born May 9, 1942 in Cozad, Nebraska to Richard and Mary (Keller) Richards. He graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1959 and enlisted with the US Navy. On June 6, 1962, he married Norma Werner in Lexington, Nebraska. Following his discharge from the military, the couple made their home in Cozad. Bob was employed by Sperry Corporation and Paulsen, Inc. In his younger years, he loved camping, fishing and boating. Following his retirement, Bob enjoyed woodworking, watching the History Channel, reading historical novels and books about Nebraska. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister Bonnie and brother Bill. Survivors include his wife Norma of Cozad; children, Brenda Crick and husband Bill of Cozad, Sheryl Bain and husband Tim of Paragould, AR and Eric Richards of Cozad; grandchildren, Jennifer (Anthony), Megan (Jonathan), Miranda (John), Mattie (Tim), Lance, Jordan and Dakota; his brother, Richard Richards of Cozad, eleven great grandkids, and many other relatives and friends. Services will be Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James McCrickard officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be Wednesday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 1 to 6pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
