Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Roger’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Parish Ministry Associate Lonna Grabenstein officiating. A memorial book signing will be Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
Roger Keith Fenstermacher passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at his home in Cozad at the age of 79. Roger was born October 10, 1943 in Cozad, Nebraska to Earl and Ardeen (Adamson) Fenstermacher. He attended rural schools and graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1962. He married Patricia Ann McFarren in 1964. Their union was blessed with 3 children, Joda, Amber and Crista. Roger worked as a plumber and owned his own business as a well driller. He retired from Monroe Auto. Roger was proficient in woodworking and won numerous grand champion ribbons at the county fair. He was a hard worker and could fix anything that was broken. He loved his girls and their families. He attended dance recitals, soccer games, softball games, music contests and anything else the grands were in. Roger loved to be outdoors and spend many hours on his lawn and garden. He was a long time member of the Cozad United Methodist Church and attended regularly. Roger loved to go hunting with his best friend Tom Kjar and looked forward to it every year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ardeen Fenstermacher; in laws, Richard and IonaBelle McFarren; brother, Robert Fenstermacher; nephew, Shawn Davis; great granddaughter, Gretchen; son in law, Tom Hagan; and brother in law, Dale Sherman.
He is survived by his wife Patty; daughters, Joda (Marty) Araujo, Amber Hagan (Ray), and Crista Fenstermacher (Daniel); grandchildren, Bryan (Emily), Carrick (Kisha), Kaycia, Belle, Cadence, Nichole, Faith and Hope; great grandchildren, Zakkary, Zaryah and Gabriel; sister, Erlene (Howard) Davis; nieces, Deb (Rex) Melroy, Stacy Moon; nephew, Eric VanPelt; sister in law, Jo Sherman; brother in law, Glenn (Suzie) McFarren; and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews and good friends.
