Ronald C. Stark of Cozad passed away February 6, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney at the age of 68. Ron was born December 10, 1950 in Lexington, Nebraska to Loren and Gaile (Stedman) Stark. He was a proud graduate of Cozad High School class of 1969. Ron was a kicker for the Haymaker football team and loved singing and performing in musicals. He went to work at Monroe Auto Equipment in 1969 and was a dedicated employee until the plant closed in 2011. Ron married Carol Meyer on October 28, 1979. The couple were blessed with three children, Misti, Heather and Aaron. Ron loved Husker football, golf, bowling, listening to the 'Oldies' and was a proud Democrat. He was devoted to his family and treasured time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Ron was an active member of the American Lutheran Church. He enjoyed singing, leading the congregation as an assistant minister, confirmation mentor and working with the men of the church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Stark and granddaughter, Jerica Lynn Stark. Survivors include his wife, Carol Stark of Cozad; children, Misti Maddox of Cozad, Heather Stark of Cozad and Aaron (Audri) Stark of Cozad; sisters, Kathy Stark of Cozad and Carol Gibson of Cozad; grandchildren, Jerron, Serenity and Jaxton Stark, Andrew and Charles Maddox, Adysen and Avery Stark; nephews, Allen (Sandy) Nichols, Richard (Bonnie) Nichols, Robbie and Ryder Nichols, Tony (Pam) Nichols, all of Cozad, Jerry Ron Stark of Kearney; mother and father in-law, Dick and Patsy Meyer of Lexington; sister-in-laws, Connie (Larry) Mikkelsen of Mulvane, KS, Cindy Meyer of Lexington, Chara Meyer of Lexington; and many great nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church with Vicar Kathy Gundell officiating. Burial will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1pm to 8pm with family present from 4pm to 6pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
