Rosie Sanchez

Rosie Sanchez of Cozad passed away on October 3, 2024 at Emerald Nursing at the age of 74. She was born on May 8, 1950 in Big Spring, Texas to Salvador Sanchez and Eva Floras. 

Rosie worked at Monroe Auto and Evans Bakery, where she developed a strong work ethic and formed lasting friendships. However, her greatest joy came from raising her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

In her free time, Rosie enjoyed cooking delicious meals, dancing, and listening to music. Her love for cooking brought countless smiles to family gatherings, filling her home with warmth and laughter. In her later years, she enjoyed taking selfies using different TikTok filters. Her spirit will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Joseph Campbell; brothers Tito and Salvador; sister- in-law, Linda Sanchez and brother-in-law, Karl Strohmyer. Survivors include her children, Andy Cañas of Gothenburg, Liz (Tony) Luong of Friend, NE, Charlie Cañas of Gothenburg and Jennifer Cañas (Keo Xoumponpackey) of Cozad; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Margie Strohmyer of Cozad, Mary (Arthur) Trevino of TX and Linda Sanchez of Riverdale, NE; brothers, Trine (Amelia) Sanchez of TX and Joe Sanchez of VA.

Cremation was chosen. A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cozad Cemetery with words of comfort from Harvey Pierce.
