Russell "Toby" LeRoy Roenfeldt

Russell "Toby" L. Roenfeldt, age 77 of Cozad, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 with his family by his side in Centennial, Colorado. Toby was born June 2, 1945 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Russell and Edna (Ardnt) Roenfeldt. He grew up in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island High School in 1963 and then went on to graduate from Grand Island Business School in 1966. Toby met his first wife, Beatrice (Jensen) and to this union, 2 children were born, Scott and Wendy. He then met his second wife Patsy (Batie) and to this union, 2 more children were born, Todd and Nick. The family resided in Cozad, NE and Toby went to work at Sperry New Holland, Video Kingdom, Tri City Tribune and Berryman Funeral Home. Toby enjoyed fishing, hunting, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his fur babies but nothing made him happier than his cocktail hours on the deck. Surviving Toby are his four children, Scott (Dedee) Roenfeldt of Centennial, CO; Wendy (Jason) Last of Shubert, NE; Todd (Tjaden) Roenfeldt of Grand Island, NE; and Nick (Brandy) Roenfeldt of Harlan, IA; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother Robert (Connie) Roenfeldt of Cozad, NE; sister Sharon Call of Cozad, NE, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Toby was preceded in death by his parents Russ and Edna, brother Richard, second wife Patsy, niece Michelle and grandson CJ.

Toby chose cremation and there will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. There will be a casual get together after the service at a place yet to be determined.
