Shelley Morris

Shelley Morris, 69, of Aurora, CO passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 26, 2025. Shelley was born in Cozad, NE to Gladys (Uhlig) and Herman Hart, joining sister Gail (Starr), on March 13, 1955.

On July 1, 1970, Shelley married her high school sweetheart Steve Morris in Cozad. They were blessed with two sons who they are very proud of, Chad and Brandon.

Shelley worked in real estate for many years while also helping to manage the family farm. She enjoyed golfing, riding in the motorcycle group with Steve, and spending time with her boys. Her happy place was in Pacific Palisades, California where she enjoyed spending time with their dear friends, the Schock’s, overlooking the ocean and the Santa Monica pier. This is where she developed her love for the “Birds of Paradise” flower.

Shelley and Steve moved to Colorado in 2006 to be closer to Chad and Brandon, their wives Ramona and Marie, and granddaughters, Brooke and Brandee. Shelley would never miss an opportunity to attend one of the girls’ school activities and you would always find her at the softball fields cheering “see it and meet it”. Recently, Shelley had the opportunity to welcome two grandsons, Ty and Willy, to the family.

Shelley made it a point to always return to her happy place in California and share that special place with her family. Some of her most memorable trips were taking Chad and Ramona to Disneyland, her granddaughters to Santa Monica, attending a wedding for her great nephew and visiting dear friends in Santa Barbara with Brandon and Steve.

Shelley felt that her life couldn’t be blessed any more until she was introduced to her grand-kitties, Garfield and Dot and shortly after grand-pups, Dodger and Raven. Dodger and Raven were the light of her later years coming to visit and always bringing with them slobbery kisses, lots of energy, and love.

Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Visitation with family present will be held on Friday, March 7th, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Services will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at her final resting place in the Cozad Cemetery. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
