Toni German, former Cozad resident, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 92. Toni was born January 24, 1927 in Logansport, Indiana to Frederick and Mary (Perry) Bammerlin. At four years old her family moved to an 80-acre farm in Wabash County where she grew up. She graduated from high school in 1945 and attended Indiana University. Although Toni loved both the farm and college, she opted to make it on her own and worked three jobs to do so. She married Max Ramsey when she was 40. Following their marriage, they moved to Deming, New Mexico where owned a health food store until her husband’s death. She married Dick German in 1994 and they lived on his farm, North of Cozad, until his death in 2007. Although Toni never had children of her own, when she married Dick, she said she inherited and is survived by three wonderful children: Marilyn Weller (Jerry); Ron German (Penny) and Barbara Kirk (Paul). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and three special nieces Kathleen Chandler (Wayne); Sandy Cooper (Terry); Nancy Collins and one special nephew Phil Williamson (Sally). Toni was preceded in death by her parents Fred & Mary Bammerlin; brothers Max & Garland Bammerlin and two sisters: Betty Peters and Kathleen Williams, her first husband Max Ramsey and Dick German. Memorials are suggested in her name to St. Croix Hospice, 1001 S. 70th St. #113, Lincoln, Nebraska 68510. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
