Valerian Zulkoski

Valerian Zulkoski of Grand Island passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 79. He was born September 23, 1943 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Louie and Nora (Spotanski) Zulkoski and attended school in several Nebraska communities. Val entered the U.S. Army in 1962. Following his discharge, he spent several years working at Rockwell International in Kearney and retired from Monroe Auto/Tenneco Automotive in Cozad. Val proudly supported several organizations, Disabled Vets, St. Jude, Feed the Children, Christian Children’s Fund and International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Val enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Brian and Kevin Zulkoski; and a brother, Gordon Zulkoski. Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Zulkoski; grandchildren, Ryan Derr and Vanessa Derr; siblings, Mary Ann Webster, Phyllis Mortez and Reggie Zulkoski; his ex-wife, Nancy Herrick; extended family and friends. Cremation was chosen. Graveside service with Military Honors will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Cozad Cemetery.
